I don't know is he a racicist, stupid, or just a product of our messed up world?
When I was in the military my best friend and room mate was a man of color. (Is that OK to say?)
I have had no better friend or known a better man. When I would hear the N-word it made me cringe and he was definitely no fan of the word. But it seems many things have changed and the word is now only bad if you don't like the guy saying it.
I take my kids to the playground and these kids (teenagers) are calling each other the N-word and slapping each other a high five. Many of the younger generation don't seem to comprehend the disgusting background and meaning of the word. One group was even calling the white guy in the group a white N**** It seems many use it in the same manner as the word dude.(Does any say this anymore?)
My five year old hears this and then I have to explain why I don't want to hear that word out of his mouth.
Hey I don't like and don't approve but if your friend addresses you in this way maybe the guy you don't like much who wants to be your friend will assume it is OK.
I think a bad word either has to be bad no matter who says it or you cannot say it is racist or bad based on who utters it.
